- Why does reflective writing help a student learn and develop as a better writer? How does it work?
Metacognitive writing is being able to see how you write and examine/think about it. This is also reflective writing. You can really break down YOU and YOUR writing habits and structures when you make papers. It's very hard to do sometimes because you are so set in your own reality and how you operate it's hard to see the structure off of what you work. Any topics, well WP#3 is a great topic. Your Theory of Writing really is broad and vague enough that you can literally write just about anything when it comes to you. It really calls for you to know yourself as a writer.
Some times in the past but this the first time I've truly understood what reflective writing should look or feel like (I think). Those experiences have always been surface level and often times teachers could tell. I didn't truly understand what I was writing about when it came to myself so it was surface level examinations of what steps we were taught beforehand. If any of that made sense, hurray.
Knowing yourself as a writer gives you more room to grow and improve. This is invaluable and can truly push you into the next tier of writing better.
